Angry Editor经常看到类似下面的句子:
XX Company joint hands with XY Company…
除了“hands”的出现 (见我早期的博文),还有个地方让我特别愤怒:joint!
“To join”(意为结合、连接等)的过去式和过去分词就是“joined”, 而不是“joint”。
Joint也是个单词,当名词讲时是骨节、关节、连接处、结合点的意思;当形容词用时是共有的、共同做的意思 。
因为joint有上述的意思,所以MS Word的spell check(拼写检查)也不会救你的!
例句:Have you joined the Angry Editor Kaixin group yet? 【你加入Angry Editor在开心网上的群了吗?】
例句:Yes, I joined the group yesterday. 【恩,我昨天加入了。】
例句:Technically speaking, Ogilvy is a joint venture. 【严格意义上讲,奥美在中国是家合资企业。】
例句: After a hard day’s editing your English, the joints in my fingers hurt. 【一整天都在纠正你的英文,我手指的骨节疼死了!】

LoooooooooooL, It’s so great to have a native English speaker to correct we chinese ppl’s gramatical mistakes, especially in this funny way, Dat’s really useful, thx.
Plus, I have kept all the GRE vocabulary in my mind, so I definitely won’t make these mistakes.
