新浪微博的英文怎么说呢？
这个可简单：Sina Microblog、Sina Twitter、 Weibo这三个英文说法都可以，随便挑一个。
没那么简单的倒是怎么用英文来形容微博的事情。
最近几个星期，我一直忙着关注我们公司是怎么用社会媒体公关的，发现有很多不同的英文说法，当然其中也不少错误说法，让读者搞不懂，把editor气死！
下面是讲微博时几个实用的英文单词（蓝色的是讲Twitter的被认可的说法－读者懂Twitter的话，我建议用）：
转发： forward/to forward, to retweet
评论： comment, to leave a comment
一条微博： a Weibo update/post, a tweet
私信： private message (PM), direct message (DM)
粉丝： fans, followers
话题： topic, hashtag
新浪认证： verified account
热门话题榜：most popular topics, trending topics
下面是几个可能实用的句型作为参考：
The post received 34 comments. 这条微博有34个评论。
The update was forwarded 677 times. 这条微博被转发了677次。
In January there were 77 mentions of “Angry Editor” on Weibo. 一月，“Angry Editor”被提到了77次。
I have 200 followers on Weibo. 我的微博有200个粉丝。
He forwarded that Weibo update to his 888 followers. 他转发这条给他888个粉丝。
We created a hashtag for the event. 我们给这个活动弄了一个话题。
I follow Angry Editor on Weibo. 我关注Angry Editor的微博。
He added me on Weibo. 他关注我的微博。
I update my Weibo every day. 我天天更新微博。

Weibo 这个词，不熟悉中文的外国人能懂吗？为什么你更喜欢 Weibo 而不是 Microblog 呢？

i think call it “twitter” is more appropriate than the other 2.

Something I have noticed of native Chinese speakers is that a lot of people assume the sound of “fans” is the same as 粉絲, which results in a pronunciation that is similar to “fence”, need to be careful of the pronunciation of vowels.

Looking at the terms you have above, for a blog at least 留言 might be better for “to leave a comment”, but this could be a China/Taiwan difference.

刚刚Google微博结果点进来了，因为在一个英文报纸上看到”Weibo”没反应过来
我觉得Microblog是最糟糕的翻译，明明中国人创造的词却被诡异的翻译成英文。
我也是在同学那里知道”微博“这个词的，虽然同学们都写新浪微博，但是我一直只有Twitter
我觉得应该就叫Twitter比较好，因为Twitter就是这一类东西的代名词，就好象当年的阿萨辛成为刺客的代名词一样
